The Paper Trail
2020 was a bizarre year for artists. For bands like the Glasgow-based Post Punk quartet The Paper Trail, who usually thrive most on stage, having zero capability for live performance represented an uncomfortable change of pace. Yet, being stuck at home with little to do but pick up the guitar or kick back and explore new music has led to new inspiration and ultimately the band's most prolific song-writing period to date. A plethora of new songs see The Paper Trail push far beyond their previous sonic comfort zone and create a hybrid of sound that is as intriguing as it is fresh.
PETER CAT
PETER CAT are an art-pop band from Scotland, singing tall tales of weirdo woe with a silver lining shimmering above it all. They were formed by lead vocalist and arranger Graham Neil Gillespie, having performed live with an evolving line-up, based first in London and now in Glasgow.
Peter Cat channel the perennial upstarts and outsiders of indie pop: the ones who weren't supposed to make it, but did – think Sparks, Pulp, The Divine Comedy, The Associates, and John Grant.
FIELDING CHASE
FIELDING CHASE - Pulsating power-pop, shimmering synths and gale force guitars.
Originally from Glasgow, the band's core members are husband and wife duo William and Rachel Codona who now live in Montrose.
Fielding Chase draw inspiration from bands such as De Staat, David Byrne and Twenty One Pilots to the likes of Rammstein, and offer their own brand of punked up rock with a dark edge.
